The Wanilla School was erected in September 1950 to assist in educating the many children of the new soldier settlers of the district.
The first principal was Mr Vern Lewis. The number of students varied greatly during the schools existence.
One of the events of the school year was the annual fancy dress ball or Frolic - click here.
When the school closed in April 1990 a plaque was unveiled to mark the schools involvement within the Wanilla district - it was unveiled by a previous teacher Mrs Marie Charlton & one of the local parents Mr Graham Giddings.
