The Church & Hall
On January 11th 2005 a bushfire raged through the Wanilla area leaving a trail of devastation and heartbreak.

The fire started the day before and became an uncontrollable inferno the next day, with high temperatures and a fierce north wind.

The statistics say there were 93 homes burned and 46780 head of livestock perished with 82752 hectares burned (204397 acres). The tragedy of this day is that 9 people lost their lives. The pain of that day still lingers in our community.
