Farming 1960 - 1990

Farming during this time was based on livestock, with wool growing, prime lambs and beef production the main sources of income.

During the 70's beef prices collapsed and wool and lamb were even more important.
A national floor price for wool was removed in 1991 and caused another reajustment in land use.
This resulted in a shift to grain production, larger farms and less farmers.
